Members volunteer with and for people, focusing on Children, Education and Community Services. Each IODE chapter has the independence to choose and support projects in their own neighbourhood. If you have just a few hours to spare monthly, you can make a difference and form lifelong friendships.
IODE membership is many things to many people. It is this diversification that holds the interest of the members and attracts others to it. What other organization has so much to offer to so many and in such different age groups?
The main benefit of belonging to IODE is being part of a like-minded group of women who work together to improve the quality of life for those in need. IODE is a national women's charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals, through education support, community service and citizenship programs.
With IODE approaching the 115th anniversary of its inception, it is easy to focus on the past – the multi thousands of hours and dollars given to various “good works” through education, service and patriotic endeavours. But we are more than our past. We are the present and the future.
In the present we continue to offer the many services to education and citizenship we always have. And we have fun while doing it! Our 21 Chapters throughout the Province all support various programmes in their communities. These include Food Banks, libraries, kindergartens, schools, hospitals and more. Most Chapters award bursaries each year to graduating high school students going on for further education. If there is a need we do our best to help.
Now we look to the future, to increased growth, new programmes and new challenges. Together we can achieve anything we put our minds to.
The health of any organization is up to its members. Let’s see that our organization continues to thrive and grow!
